FCS(Field-bus Control System),with its digital, distributed, and open character, is replacing the traditional control schemes gradually and becoming the lead role of automation field in 21st century . As one of the FCS standards, CAN field-bus is more highly reliable and low priced, and being used more and more extensively. At the same time, with the development of computer, control and communication technology and the rapid development of internet, the most important choice of the management and information network is Ethernet. Now the problem is how to connect CAN control net with Ethernet. This article analysis the characteristic of Ethernet,CAN2.0 protocol,TCP/IP protocol in detail and their implement method, introduced a plan that solves interconnect between the two different network:Design a"CAN-Ethernet"embedded gateway, then we investigate the key technique about how to interconnect this two different network. Including the network architecture, the ideal of protocol conversion and network model of"CAN-Ethernet"plan. Mainly discuss the choice of gateway hardware platform, specifically introduced the programming of the gateway, the operate of CAN controller, the design of CAN data send and receive programming, network programming and the multi-task programming with emphasis. Design two different tasks to implement the communication of CAN Bus and Ethernet, specifically introduced how to divide tasks in multitask programming, set tasks priority, communication between tasks and event touch off. The theory and the key technique introduced in this paper not only have significance for the connection of other FCS (PROFIBUS,FF,LONWORKS) and Ethernet but also have well application prospect and promoted value.
