Application Of Data Mining In Distance Education

Data Mining is a kind of fairly new information technology that has been developed with the technology of database and Artificial Intelligence. Data Mining integrates knowledge from many subjects such as database, AI and statistics, trying to extract the unknown, effective and useful knowledge from data.With the popularity of the Examination on the Internet and the increase in the use of distance education, the demand of automatically gaining information is increasing.In this situation, it is important that researching KDD systems which adapts to examinatorial field. The researches have academic significance and practical value.First of all, the Examinatorial Source Mining System concept on the basis of summarizing the Data Mining theory was introduced. Then the problems facing in Distance Education were analyzed and raveled out. A system about examinatorial source mining was designed.The algorithms in ESMS were focused on .The algorithms make used of Hash technology, and solves the ordered problem. An example of algorithms was given. Outcome about mining was analyzed. Index of examination paper questions and answers were included in outcome. Teaching work was helped very much. Finally, the usability of the ESMS was validated.
