Recently, more and more attacks to the computer information systems are happened. It is very difficult to prevent the attacks. The attack methods have changed from the traditional local virus attacks to the distributed high-speed spread network attacks. Because of their inherent defects, the existing intrusion detection technologies are not efficient to deal with this condition. The operating mechanism of intrusion detection systems is similar to the natural immune system. The theory that the immune system can protect body from invasion provides an important approach to study the intrusion detection technique.Firstly, this paper introduces the situation and reasons of anxiety of network security, and describes the reason that the common security tools are not enough to meet the need of security. Secondly, the concept, classification and development of intrusion detection technology, and some popular intrusion detection methods are presented. Thirdly, the mechanism of the human immune system and the artificial immune system are introduced. Finally, three main immune system algorithms, namely, the negative algorithm, the positive algorithm and the clonal selection algorithm are analyzed.This paper presents a kind of profile code method of intrusion...
