At the same time as the 3rd generation (3G) mobile communications is coming into commercial applications, the next generation (Beyond 3G and 4G) communication is being researched extensively. Until now, there are many deficits in the wireless systems. There is conflict between the demand for higher speed and the instability of the wireless channel, between the rapid increasing system capacity and the lack of radio resources. All these conflicts call for more new technologies for the next generation wireless communication system. In all kinds of techniques, Multiple-Input Multiple-Output antenna (MIMO) and Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) technologies are interesting because of their special advantages, and are being investigated extensively. The MIMO system takes advantage of the spatial diversity, and can increase the channel capacity without the band-width increasing, and it's V-BLAST (Vertical-Bell Labs Space-Time) architecture can realize high data rates without additional power or bandwidth consumption. On the other hand, the OFDM system is especially suitable for high-speed communication due to its resistance to fading, and can integrate with CDMA technology to increase the system performance. So it is a challenge work to combining MIMO and OFDM to improving the performance and increasing the system capacity. In this paper ,based on the researches of the main character and wirless channel model ,the core principles and technologies of the MIMO and OFDM systems are discussed, the MIMO-OFDM systems are researched and a simulation platform of the MIMO-MC-CDMA system is...
