Nowadays mobile telecommunication services have been switching from simple low-rate telephone services to all kinds of high-rate data and multimedia ones which have different QoS parameters (including time-delay, BER, etc). In order to support them it is in demand that thoroughly changing the traditional physical framework to dramatically increase system capacity. Applying adaptive transmission techniques at physical layer is a research hotspot. Besides, it has proved both theoretically and practically that compared to single-input-single-output (SISO) system, multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) system achieves significant capacity gains. It has led to MIMO being regard as one of the important ways that can solve the lack of radio resources. In the dissertation, the research work revolves around applying adaptive transmission techniques into MIMO system in order to improve spectral efficiency and link reliability.First the dissertation gives a research on several adaptive...
