As information age is coming, the update of knowledge becomes more fast. Life-long learning is needed for people to adapt the changeable society. Learning is not just the process of learning the conclusions of others' experiences—the knowledge in books, what is more important is that learning the methods and skills of learning and improving learning abilities. Under-achievers always commonly exist at schools. Under the notion of 'No child left behind', both education leaders and teachers at school should try to solve the problems of under-achievers in each aspect, hoping under-achievers can make progress in studies and understand how to learn through their efforts. Owing to these study backgrounds, the author raises the research theme of adaptive learning, which may benefit to solve these problems with the help of information technology.In order to make a better understanding of the connotation of adaptive learning, the author adopted the method of literature-summarizing to clear some study theories and some cross concepts. To truly learn the contemporary and the features of learners' adaptive learning, the author distributed some questionnaires and made some interviews, through which we found at present learners have high adaptive learning tendency and ability. Meanwhile we also knew that different gender and different level learner may vary in learning behaviors and learning strategies in some degree.On the basis of the above theory research and investigation of practice, the author wants to develop the platform of learners' adaptive learning. Its purpose is to provide different learning environments to different styles of learners and to promote learners' study eventually. This system can be used for task distribution; meanwhile, it also can be used as a platform of research-learning . This system has many functions. It can truck and manage learning situation. It can provide curriculum dynamically. It also can answer questions and give comprehensive evaluation automatically .In addition, it also have the function of note-communicating.Finally the author analyzes the limits of this research and points out the future study in this field.All chapters in this thesis are arranged like the following:The first chapter describes the backgrounds, the meanings, the goals and the methods of this thesis.
