WCDMA Network Optimization Design For Small Area

The third generation mobile communication system has been become research focus for its wideband and packet and intelligent since 1998 all over the world. Because the system works at 2000MHz band, the high speed is about 2000Kb/s and has been put into business use in 2000 year, it is also called IMT-2000. The standardization work for the third generation has been put forward by two organization 3GPP and 3GPP2 and almost complete finished on the whole. WCDMA, cdma2000 and TD-SCDMA have become three main streams technical standards. Among of them, WCDMA is based on GSM in Europe and cdma2000 is based on IS-95 CDMA in North America, TD-SCDMA is put forward by China. cdma2000,WCDMA standard are belong to FDD and TD-SCDMA is belong to TDD standard . As one main stream technology of the third generation of the mobile communication, WCDMA has become more and more perfect in technique. Up to now it has 3GPP R99,3GPP R4,3GPP R5,3GPP R6 and 3GPP R7 totally five edition. The four editions have finished, and 3GPP R7 is on the work.The paper briefly talking about main structure of WCDMA first, then introduce the basic method of network planning and optimization and according the Changchun WCDMA trial network optimizing engineering data compare the network function before and after optimization get the optimization conclusion. The optimization work was carried out by using optimizing software analyzing the network performance and criterion data obtained though route testing, giving the adjusting suggestion for the data setting of the engineering and system.
