Design And Implementation Of Campus Network Management System Based On SNMP

With the development of the computer and communication technical, the network as the basic facilities of the communicating society penetrate to all aspect of the society, the application for network becomes wider and wider, the heterogenous structure for network becomes higher and higher, and the end users ask for higher network performance at the same time. The features of the network nowadays are as below:geological separation, complexity of the network architecture, sudden increase of the network communication, variety of the network facilities, the endless fluctuation of network and etc. A serials new requirement for network management is proposed to support the changes of the network, including supporting for interconnection of different architecture network, supporting for management of different network facilities, supporting for more network architecture, supporting for different transport medium and communication protocol, having perfect and smart network management. In long-term network running and practical management, a whole set network management industry standard which can support the above mentioned content had come into being, they are SNMPvl,SNMPv2 and SNMPv3.The protocol had got wide approval of the industrial area, a lot of SNMP-based network management system had been put forward .This paper first describes the development position and the users' requirement of the network management, introduces several products on network management .Then we discuss the SNMP network management system in detail, and describe the most detail of design frame, including graphical management and graphical showing of the performance data. The system collects data in time from the core switch which is in backbone network, forms historical data, and then displays in graphical in web browser. The system uses vc++6.0 language to writer in collecting and saving data.The network management information database is established. The operations of the database are achieved by ADO programming;The equipments sketch turns a management to ask for help the Webview of the company omni series of Alcatel;the search interface of the function data adopts now more popular c# language to carry out.
