Mobile Ad hoc Network is a temporary self-organized and autonomoussystem composed of mobile nodes that are connected by multi-hop wirelesslinks and serve as hosts and routers. Ad hoc routing protocol is one of the keytechnologies. Thus, research on Ad hoc routing protocols has become an activeand stimulating area. Several aspects were probed into as follows:Firstly, related works in the world, especially ZRP(Zone RoutingProtocol), have been generalized and analyzed. Although ZRP combines thestrengths of both proactive and reactive protocols, it still has somedisadvantages. By setting up and analyzing routing stability, the conclusion hasbeen acquired that routing stabilization depends on mobility of intermediatenodes.Secondly, a more efficient EZRP(Efficient Zone Routing Protocol)algorithms has been put forward aiming at the above case. Its main idea is thatzone radius depends on the mobility of nodes. Different nodes choose differentzone radius, according to different mobility of each node. Each node has itsown zone radius: faster node sets a smaller zone radius;while slower node setsa larger zone radius. Each node attends routing query, only when its mobility isnot stronger than original node, which may improve the problem of link brokenusually caused by the fast mobility of intermediate node. Therefore, EZRP ismore efficient and more stable than ZRP.Lastly, in our NS-2(Network Simulator Version 2) experiments, it isproved that EZRP is much better than ZRP in packet delivery ratio, routingstability and routing efficiency. In conclusion, the resulting route caused byEZRP will be more efficient. Some precious experience is provide for furtherresearch.
