Total Suspended Particulate (TSP) means the solid and liquid grain things, whose aerodynamics equivalent diameter is below 100 microns. It is one of the most important reasons of air pollution. How to identify TSP effectively in the atmosphere, and to adopt necessary protection, has been an important topic that the environment personnel, both in and abroad, studies all the time.In the research of image analysis, image division is one important technology, which divides objects from background. It gives us basement to object detection. In the image division, edge detection is one of important methods. It deals with edge detection problems through detecting the edge of different area.Wavelet-Based edge detection has being surprisingly developed both in pure theory and application because wavelet transform has prominent abilities of mufti-scale edge detection. Based on the development, this article's main contribution include research on the classic methods of image edge detection wavelet theory image edge detection based on wavelet theory and some problem on the image edge detection.The classic methods of image edge detection includes difference operator, Roberts operator Sobel operator Prewitt operator Robinson operator and Laplace operator. Through theory analysis and imitation, compare with their advantage and disadvantage. These methods are based on differential coefficient and simple, but the ability of antinoise is bad. They are often used clear edge detection. Next an adaptive wavelet transform that maps integers to integers is presented in this paper. Some research is done in the wavelet-Based edge detection methods. Last some problems in the wavelet-Based edge detection are summed up and give us methods to resolve these problems.All the work in this paper is of some value to research and applications of image edge detection.
