TV monitoring system for transport is essential to the transportmanagement in modern cities and plays an important role in IntelligentTransportation System (ITS). In addition, it has a bright market future.This paper first introduces the TV monitoring system for transportand then presents the specific solution to realize the functions of itstransmission equipment, which is the core of this paper. In this solution,optical fiber transmission is taken as the major means of transmission.Digital 1 video optical transceiver (optical transmitter, receiver) totransmit video signal at real time. This paper emphasizes on theargumentation of plan and hardware implementation. The technologies ofanalogue-to-digital conversion, digital-to-analogue conversion,parallel-to-serial conversion, serial-to-parallel conversion, phase-lockedloop, and optical fiber transmission are used in this solution.This optical transmitter makes it possible for the real-time andsynchronous transmission of video signals without distortion and at highquality. The module structure makes it flexible. It is automaticallycompatible with PAL, NTSC and SECAM video standards. All its opticaland electrical interfaces agree with the international standards and canwork in different environment.
