With the coming of the information society characterized by the informationtechnology, computer network has taken effect in almost every field of the society.Especially in recent years when, by the development of wireless network technology, the spatio-temporal restricts of fault diagnosis have been broken, technologies ofremote monitoring and diagnosis have found their wide application and a new modefor remote monitoring and diagnosis system has been brought. In this thesis a remote intelligent fault diagnosis system based on wirelessnetwork is put forward. A method of data-transmission based on wireless network isanalyzed and a scheme for intelligent fault diagnosis on the basis of Bayesiannetwork is laid out.A fault diagnosis system based on wireless network is composed of four partswhich are site-workstations, a monitoring center of a company, a remote diagnosiscenter and a remote monitoring center. The real time online monitoring and faultdiagnosis on the level of company is realized by the use of the WLAN constructedbetween the site-workstations and the monitoring center according to the protocol ofIEEE 802.11g. By the application of commercial wireless digital communicationsnetwork (GPRS), the last three parts of the system are able to accomplishdata-transmission through wireless WWAN. The terminal service technology ofMicrosoft is introduced in the realization of remote monitoring and fault diagnosis tothe site-workstations.This thesis also researches on how to build a fault diagnosis model takingadvantage of Bayesian network and how to improve the system's resolving abilityand reasoning quality in the process of intelligent fault diagnosis. The feasibility of the remote intelligent fault diagnosis system based onwireless network and proposed by this thesis is validated by the practical applicationof pump online monitoring system at a certain water-station in shanghai.
