With the rapid development of Internet/Intranet, web is gradually becoming one of the main channels of information sharing and spreading, while such technologies as the Unified Modeling Language, Rational Unified Process, XML, .NET Framework, Web Service, Java Script, Component Object and Distributed Databases are the core techniques for modeling and developing web applications. On the basis of studying and mastering these techniques, using .NET environment and SQL Server 2000, the author accomplished the requirement description, analysis/design and modeling, implementation, testing and deployment of the drivers license examination management system based on web.During system development, the author solved many key technical problems relevant to on-line examination management systems: multi-user authentication and access control; time control and automatic paper submission; test question picture management; test page anti-cheating; sending attachments via DIME(Direct Internet Message Encapsulation) specification. The system possesses the following characteristics: flexible paper-construction strategy and accounts management; complete security mechanisms; effective test questions management; various kinds of test paper modes. The system made the work of traffic management department more efficient and convenient. The thesis described systematically the analysis, design, implementation and testing procedure of the drivers license examination management system, and the various difficulties encountered during system development are pointed out and the corresponding solutions are presented.
