In the development of communication products, same protocols often used in different products, but implement environment of each product is very different, the requirement for same protocol is also different. Despite there are many common parts in these protocols, but different solution method were used in different products, which result in although used same business program code, but the protocol implement will be more and more different in each product. In this situation, developer will waste many money and time for same work, and good solution cannot be shared. Because have not a common pattern to implement distribution and redundancy, the problem about large capability and easy to manage requirement for modern telecom system cannot be effectively resolved. In order to resolve these problems, this paper proposed a common protocol platform solution for softswitch server. This solution satisfied system requirement of functionality, maintenance availability, high expansibility and high availability. Based on the common protocol architecture, which proposed in this paper, each protocol layer can be developed independently and each protocol layer is independent with system manager module. Development of protocol layer will be convenient when use this architecture. In this paper, Trillium's layer manager function had been expanded, two layers network management (master agent and sub agent) architecture is adopted, management data could be dispatched to each entity independently, so coupling in each module was avoided, this solution guaranteed maintenance availability and high expansibility of system. This paper proposed the double plan DFT/HA architecture. In this solution, common protocol nodes were divided into active plan and standby plan, load share and data process was belonging to active plan, and standby plan acted as redundancy node of active plan. System switch speed and availability were greatly improved when used this DFT/HA architecture. Finally, this paper used prepaid service module to get a test result for common protocol platform solution.
