With development of 3D graphics and visualization, people are interesting in rapid rendering speed and VR more and more. High graphics servers and work stations can do that work. But their high price greatly limits their popularization. With development of PC and graphics hardware, rendering systems based on pc-cluster which are cheaper and powerful can also do that work. Our system, which is based on PC-cluster with OpenSG tookit, achieves high resolution and stereo rendering for existed 3D models. It can be used in many industries, such as car industry, architecture industry.In this paper, we introduce both software and hardware of the rendering system which is based on PC-cluster. This system can be subdivided into two subsystems: one is for high resolution rendering, and the other is for stereo rendering.Firstly, we introduce parallel rendering, OpenSG, the architecture and hardware of PC-cluster.Secondly, we introduce the subsystem which is for high resolution. It uses client/server model. The client is running the application for loading files and controlling the view. The rendering servers are just used for rendering. Multicast which has great scalable is used for communication.Thirdly, we introduce the stereo rendering subsystem It also uses client/server model and multicast communication. Stereo effect is achieved by passive stereo. There are two nodes to do that. One is for left view and the other is for right view. By setting two projectors with the polarizing filter to the same area, people will see the stereo effect with polarizing glasses.Finally, we introduce summary and next work.This system is based on OpenSG. It achieves multi-screem and stereo rendering for existed 3D models. Compared with expensive servers, it may be more slowly. But the system uses multi-PC for each subtask. It has good results. The advantages of this system are cheap, high resolution and well scalable. And it can be used in many industries.
