The Study And Implement Of Multimedia Messaging Service MMS System

With the quick development of communications system of the third generation (3G) and the forth generation (4G), applications of multimedia in mobile field has been focused on and moved from internet into mobile field in order to meet the requirement from people. As a critical technology in mobile field, there is little domestic research work about MMS. Foreign vendors have almost occupied the whole shares of MMS market. So it's urgent for us to master the MMS technology and produce our own MMS product.MMS may deliver multimedia data from one terminal to another. But the media formats that can be delivered is very limited so far with small effect that can hardly meet the requirement from the public. While this project is actualized addressing the requirement. The project aims at integrating popular video media formats (such as H.263, H.264, MPEG and so on) as well as text, image (such as JPEG, JIF animation and so on) and audio (such as AAC, AMR and so on) into MMS system. The network of this system has implemented WAP and HTTP which are two main network interface technologies in IT industry.This dissertation illuminates the architecture and system functions of MMS as well as describing and introducing the presentation controlling language SMIL and the implement method of its encoding/decoding in detail. The dissertation analyzes the conformance of MMS contents, the technology of MMS PDU and two main network interface technologies WAP and HTTP in MMS system. Finally, it expatiates the exploitation and implement technology of MMS terminal that we have developed in the project.
