SARS indulged in wilful persecution in spring of 2003 in China. Restrict ofpeople from other places became an urgent task. So the design of a large-scale accesssystem based on biology identification technologies came into our research field.Biology Identification Technologies make use of physical or behavioral intrinsicfeatures to verify the identity of people. Fingerprint Identification Technology is themost mature and the most acceptable Biology Identification Technologies. Any twofingerprints are not alike. Moreover fingerprint is stable and cannot be copied,transplanted and imitated. The application of Fingerprint Identification Technology onAccess System can expediently, safely and efficiently control the access to importantphysical or logical places. However due to restrict of many factors, there does notexist now large-scale Fingerprint Access System.The primary work of this paper is as follow:1)Design of the general system structure.2)Design and accomplishment of the database and software.3)Study of the methods to improve executed velocity from the view ofengineering and arithmetic respectively. A method to design identificationcode is put forward from the view of engineering. The identification codedesigned by this method is simpler and can be easily remembered. From theview of arithmetic, a method is brought forward, which uses ImageMatching first to do coarse match and then uses Characteristic Matching todo precise match.4) Research on the Fingerprint Image Enhancement. The traditional imageenhancement method and the image enhancement method based onfingerprint information have been studied respectively. Aiming at the specialcase of this system, threshold image contrast enhancement arithmetic is putforward.5) Evaluation of the system.From the result of evaluation, executed velocity of the system can meet therequirement of the application. The threshold image contrast enhancement arithmeticcan improve the identification rate of the system in a certain extent. Although theimage enhancement algorithm based on fingerprint information can improve theidentification rate more, the speed of the threshold image contrast enhancementarithmetic can meet the requirement.
