The Research On Investigative Reporting

Firstly raise in U.S.A between 19th and 20th century and, blossomed in the whole West since 60s of 20th, investigative reporting accompanied with interpretive reporting and objective reporting have developed to the mainstream of news reporting in Western countries. It has also shown its special penetrability and influence since its occurrence in China in the 80s of 20th century and, become a widely-used reporting style of both papery and electronic media as well, for which it conquered the Chinese mass media quickly. Although existed for more than one century and, accepted by more and more countries and medias, investigative reporting is still in the juvenility to academic study. Therefore, on the basis of researches former scholars made, the author is mainly to scientifically concept the investigative reporting through a deep research of its history venation and, give use for reference to news-reporting practice through a research to the interview and composition of investigative reporting. Then, a forecast on the development and trend of China's investigative reporting in 21th will be made, along with the discussions on the significance of investigative reporting to the field of news reporting. Anyway, the paper consists of six parts: Part Ⅰ: There comes the exordium, mainly introducing the purpose and significance of what this paper do, the work and theories former researchers lacked, the research method this paper used and, the innovation views of this paper. Part Ⅱ: There will be a survey on the concept of investigative reporting in both China and Western countries at first; then it comes the summary of constitute factors of investigative reporting in Western countries; following a point-discrimination from China to the Western countries on investigative reporting, a scientifically orientation for investigative reporting in China comes next; in the end of this part, the author will analyze the characteristics of investigative reporting. Part Ⅲ: Objecting with the history of investigative reporting in U.S.A, Japan, Britain and China, the author holds the key venation of investigative reporting and, gives a perspicuous analysis on it. Part Ⅳ: The author emphasizes the ways of taking an investigative reporting, mainly including how to select a reporting topic, what should we do before an interview and, what're the methods of investigative interview and so on. Part Ⅴ: This part falls to three factors: how to compose investigative reporting, what're the techniques investigative reporting used and a summary of characteristics of composing investigative reporting lies in the end.
