On Researching & Developing A B/S Model Exam-question Bank System For General Institutuins Of Higher Learning

After in-depth researches into theories on exam-question bank, basing on Internet Distributed Applications technology, we put forwaord in this thesis a three-level structured B/S model exam-question bank system, which adopts the Classical Test Theory pattern, makes use of Active Server Framework technology and is applicable for general institutions of higher learning.The capacity of the system under discussion covers collecting exam questions and generating tests automatically, on-line examination and automatic evaluation, maintenance of test bank and so on. It can effectively manage and assess teaching and learning, reveal students' true level and promote isolation of teaching and learning.In researching and developing the system, we availed ourselves of UML module-building technology, database technology, ASP technology, VBA technology, COM component technology and so on.We also introduced methods for processing exam-question data including multi-media exam data, took advantage of MMS(Microsoft Media Server) platform in distributing audio and vedio information to balance the load of the net and lower the bandwidth demand. We put stress on finding a solution for the Multiple Constraint Weighte Deviations Problem(MCWDP for short) contraposing MCWDP model and offered a practical arithmetic to realize generating examination papers and collecting existing exam documents into the bank automatically, and simplifying information processing. Besides, we applied VBA technology in realizing shifting test paper records automatically into written test paper of a Word document format. All kernel functions of the system are launched by means of ActiveX DLL components of COM technology.In addition, this paper discusses the safe-guarding of the system and offers a practical scheme.
