A variety of monitors installed on aircrafts are mainly used to display various parameters of aircrafts during the flight, takeoff and landing process. These monitors are vital to the safety of the flight. In this paper, a testing system for the multi-functional monitor installed on a certain aircraft was developed.In this paper, firstly, requirements for the functionality of the testing system for the multi-functional monitor were analyzed. Based on the analysis, both hardware and software design of the testing system for the multi-functional monitor was conducted. Finally, fault diagnosis analysis for testing system self-check fault was done. Specifically, the following tasks were accomplished:1. Requirements for the functionality of the testing system for the multi-functional monitor were analyzed and the overall design of the testing system was done.2. Hardware design and implementation of the testing system for the multi-functional monitor were conducted, including the design for DC analog circuit module, AC analog circuit module and communications between several communication cards and the object to be tested.3. Software modeling for the testing system for the multi-functional monitor were done, Based on the analysis, software design and debug for the testing system were done, including the self-inspection and testing modules and etc..4. Fault diagnosis was discussed. Comparisons between the fault tree method, the expert system method and BP neural network based method were done. The application of BP neural network based fault diagnosis in the self-check fault for testing system was analyzed.Real implementation indicates that the designed testing system meets the testing requirements of the multi-functional monitor in function completeness, reliability and testability.
