Under the background that the city becomes the ages theme ,city and city appears a vigorous competition, it plays more and more stronger along with the development of economy. In this ages that economy gets greatly development, the one who controls more resources will get more preempt opportunity. The city's competition is an ability to obtain various fluxion resources and capture the market in the condition of a competing market and how to raise the competition becomes the initial task of the city managers. Although the exaltation of this kind of competition ability is depend on own intrinsic quality, we still need outside publicity and packing. So, in this fair and open market environment, city marketing becomes the only means to get more development resources.Thus, The work of city marketing has been put on the agenda, how making the city highlights show in front of everyone with the best possible way becomes a problem that this ages city managers need to face. The traditional marketing way has gradually unpopular, new ways seems ready to come out. At this moment, film, a special media arouse people's attention because of its obvious communication effect , film and city marketing is in the synchronous groping stage and looking for an optimum combining site actively.This paper is based on the theme that how to make use of film to carry on the city marketing, from the film's own advantage and communication effect,expounding the necessity and feasibility by using it. It analyzes some current problems appeared in the course of city marketing combined with examples, and puts forward some practical suggestions. Under the joint effort of everyone, the roads of city marketing by film will be more and more spacious.
