The book called"Fan Shu Ou Ji"written by Sun Dianqi is a compiling catalogue since the Qing Dynasty. It is also an essential bibliographic monograph which enjoys high evaluation from experts and scholars.This thesis takes"Fan Shu Ou Ji"published by the Shanghai Ancient Book Publishing House as the research subject. Meanwhile, the author also consulted a number of ancient books and some other data to carry on the research. The thesis consists of three parts. In the introduction part, the author introduces Sun Dianqi's life and family background as well as his communication with other scholars. The main body of the thesis illustrates edition, bookmaking style and features. Furthermore, the thesis analyzes and evaluates the achievement in historical data and value from five perspectives. In the chapter of additions and corrections, the author classifies the mistakes in the book into fifteen categories such as book title, the number of volumes, carving and problem solving and further illustrates with examples and corrections in reference with other bibliography and data which systematically reveal some errors in the book. In short, the value of the thesis lies in the discovery of textual research and demonstration in the book. The final part of the thesis offers a brief analysis some deficiencies of"Fan Shu Ou Ji".To sum up, the author attempts to analyze and research on the book in the basis of the previous research, affirms the achievement and pinpoints mistakes and errors, all of which benefits further research.
