The Features And Influence Of The Science Communication In The Public Events

Public events, with its important influence, always have a significant social effect or cause the potential harm to social stability which could affect a wide range and damage the public interest. Considering the significance of public event, in the age of networking and informatization, the dissemination of information, when the public events happen, has become the key word.The rapid development of science and technology has greatly influenced all aspects of social life. Because the features of public affairs and strong public opinions that gathered by network, people will turn to scientific information when there is a public event. Actually, scientific communication has become an important part in the information communication of the public event.This article will take the 2009"total solar eclipse live broadcast"and this year's "salt panic"as the case samples, based on the theory of"Lasswell's 5W communication model"and"focus issue", to analyze the features and the influence of science communication in public events, which are including the networking of media, diversification of disseminator and subjective of audience reflected by the communication. It further points out, in the public event, science communication will play a role in crisis management and promoting scientific literacy. By discussing from three parts of media, disseminator, and communication content, the article will further analyze the possible way to promote our ability to communicate science in public event, including spreading science information in an initiative,fast and comprehensive way; the advantage of media convergence; the role of news media,scientist,blog of science and micro blog; discovering the scientific content in public event; the content of scientific spirit and human care.
