September 2010, U.S. President Barack Obama launched a program called "Video Game Challenge" national plans to promote and support the development of original game and learn from education to science, technology, engineering and mathematics knowledge. Plan as a "change equation" education part of the plan, specifically asked participants to help young students or to develop games for primary and secondary students. Currently, Time Warner Cable, Sally Ride Science, Kodak, Intel, Xerox, Exxon Mobil and other oil companies have announced some top American to join the program. Thus, educational games has been widely recognized in the United States and put into practice at the national level.In China, the newly adopted and promulgated the "National long-term educational reform and Development Plan" (2010-2020) made clear that information technology should be fully aware of the development of the revolutionary impact of education, strengthen the application of information technology update teaching concepts, improve teaching methods to improve teaching effectiveness. Encourage students to use information tools active learning, independent learning, and enhance the use of information technology, problem solving skills. In this context, the development of modern forms of learning has become an important choice for the development of basic education. Educational online games in China already has the basic conditions for rapid development.Therefore, this article will grasp the development of our educational online game market opportunities and industry outlook, based on the analysis of educational game development and design process of positioning a number of key issues need to be addressed, and finally through the specific case "space journey" The design and development, given the network of educational game development and planning of a thinking, principles and strategies. Through this study was designed to give educational online game design process knowledge point into the method of education, educational games to achieve the overall project planning and design. This study is divided into six chapters, including the following: 1, the first chapter, the main gives the research background, purpose, meaning and thinking methods.2, the theory of the second chapter, the main key elements of game design is given, the basic principles and models.3, Chapter III of online game development and market opportunity analysis, primarily of online games are given the basic situation and development of our educational online game market opportunities and modalities.4, Chapter IV, educational online game user orientation and choice, mainly analyses educational online game user orientation, and users' characters. Meanwhile, give the suggestion of content selection and the principle of educational online game development process should be guided by.5, Chapter V "space journey" game design and development, given the "space journey" of specific cases and game design "space journey" game design process knowledge point of collection and use of such details.6, Chapter VI Conclusions and limitations.
