With the development of multimedia display and transmission technology, people enjoy more and more audio-visual entertainment. Display technology has developed from the traditional analog video to high-definition and full HD. At the same time, display interface technology has developed from the AV cable, S-Video and VGA ports to the HDMI and SDI interface. It experienced from analog to digital world, from low to high definition.SDI interface, which is currently most widely used in the studio system of digital television programs, mainly used in non-linear editing systems, video servers, virtual studio, and digital switching matrix and the Digital Optical and so on. SDI digital interface ensured that in the 4:2:2 digital studio environment, a simple and effective connection between devices into a system. It also simplify the internal conversion between the data in different formats. So SDI interface has been accepted by many video equipment manufacturers, and generally accepted as a standard video interface.The High Definition Multimedia Interface, also known as HDMI is highly recognized due to its compact outlook, high transmission speed, and it capability of transmitting the A/V signals simutaneously on a single transmission line. Besides, HDMI can also work with High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) in order to avoid the unauthorized duplication of the audio/video that has copyrights. Due to the above specifications, the research and design of digital system plays an improtant role in the application of HDMI.As HD-SDI interface and HDMI interfaces have their advantages and disadvantages. In SDI interface, all data is transmitted through the same signal line, the transmission cost is very cheap, so it is widely used in the field of radio and television transmission system. In the HDMI interface, video signals are transmitted in multi-differential lines. So in the same video resolution, the signal rate in HDMI interface is slower than that in the SDI interface, making it less difficult in design and costs lower. So HDMI interface is widely used in familise. Therefore, in order to meet the different environment, and sometimes need a conversion between HD-SDI interface and HDMI interface. This paper provides program of the conversion between high-definition SDI signals and HDMI signal. Now,the system has gone through testing and validation, and its performance is good.
