Along with the development of the electric power industry and the process of information expedited ceaselessly, the mutual infiltration trend of the power grid and the power information communication network is more and more obvious. The high stability requirement of power system needs the high automation level of the power generation, transmission and distribution system. In order to provide reliable and economic energy to users, deploying intelligent communication infrastructure is the key. Therefore, the reliability issues of the power ICT network are the key problems that affect development of power information communication network.Through the analysis of the current situation, existing problems and requirement in power ICT network, expounds the routing technology of ASON and application advantages, necessity, feasibility, introducing strategy which used in power ICT network. The focus of research is mixed protection recovery mechanism of ASON, and proposed the mixed protection recovery mechanism based on link failures of ASON. The mechanism can effectively solve the network reliability problems at the current power ICT network that ASON and traditional network are long-term coexistence. The protection and recovery could more rapid and flexible when the network fault happens.The protections of services in power ICT network occupy so many network resources. Through analysis the different reliability requirement degrees of power services and combining the traditional differentiated reliability algorithm, the paper puts forward differentiated reliability routing algorithm based on protection ring. On the condition of a single link failure in the network and under the constraint of link cost and link failure, to find a minimum cost path protection ring, the connection request is established on the light path which can satisfy the failure probability requirement and minimize the path cost. Simulation results show that the algorithm can improve the network resources utilization efficiency with meeting the reliability requirements of power ICT network and reduce the occupying ratio of network resources, and the performance is better than traditional methods.
