In the development of computer peripherals and digital products,it is an active and urgent the problem to solve the interface between the various devices and interconnect between of them. Now USB is the most widely apply in the interface of personal computer (PC). In the USB topology, the PC becomes the core and the USB device can not be able to use if it was be divorced from the PC. However in the control field and out-door test equipment that are not PC applications, especially in the embedded technology application, USB technology application is not common. A lot of portable devices are usually very limited storage capacity, so USB mass storage became the carrier of choice for data storage. This technology has long-term practical value in embedded systems field data real-time data acquisition, storage, processing.LPC2387, ARM7 processor which is core chip in the system is selected in this paper. And it builds and realized USB host function. In the hardware aspect, each module design and the details of circuit are showed. In software, the USB 1.1 protocol is analyzed. Furthermore, it is thoroughly analyzes the architecture of USB, the model of USB data communication, packet format, USB standard descriptors. According to the USB communication protocol, it is emphatically introduced the software design and realization of the host. In order to enhance the system function and manage easily, theμC/OS-Ⅱreal-time operating system is transplanted and small file system ZLG/FS is added.Finally it can realize storage and exchange of data with ordinary computer.Use embedded USB interface technology to achieve data storage; this design can not only be well applied to data collection system, but also provides a new solution for embedded equipment data exchange and storage. The design and implementation of this scheme, which makes the general mobile storage (such as U disk) can be applied to the PC type of equipment and makes U disk that can conveniently, quickly storage data could be fully utilized in embedded field.
