The analysis of academic literature aims at assisting in related evaluation and decision making. In scientific article records, people are not only interested in searching for different types of information (such as authors, conferences, and topics), but are also interested in finding the relationships between them. However, traditional literature analytic systems can seldom find the hidden information from these relationships for lack of the ability of processing multi-relation data sets.To solve this problem, network analytic methods are introduced and many systems based on this technique have been developed.In this paper, we do some research on literature analytical system as following:(1) Because of data integration and name variation, an entity may have many names and multiple entities may share the same name. Such name ambiguity affects the performance of document retrieval, entity search, and may cause improper attribution to entities. Correctly merging these records and the information they represent is an essential step in producing data of sufficient quality for mining. In this paper, we propose a method which combines link analysis and community detection on the basis of the attribute-match method.(2) Network can be used to assist the analysis of literature records by showing the relationships between entities. But it is obvious that we can find more information by analyzing these networks multi-dimensionally. Among various multidimensional analytic tools, OLAP (On-Line Analytical Processing) has been a popular one for fast and user-friendly multi-dimensional analysis of data warehouses. Can we OLAP graphs? Unfortunately, to our best knowledge, there are no literature analytic tools available that can interactively view and analyze graph data from different perspectives and with multiple granularities. Recently, Chen Chen, Xifeng Yan and Jiawei Han proposed a novel GraphOLAP framework can OLAP graphs. However, there is not any literature analytic tool has implemented this framework.In this paper, we implemente this framework in our system and extend the framework in supporting of analyzing heterogeneous graph.(3) Finally, the above research results are applied to develop a literature visual analytic system, which is supported by a project called "Research on key technologies of scientific literature information service system and its application" under national science and technology fund.
