The description and visualization of printer's spectral color gamut plays important roles in Spectral Color Management System (SCMS). They are the basis of spectral color gamut mapping technique. In view of the disadvantages that the spectral color gamut described by Spectral Profile Connection Space (SPCS) can't be used in visualization because of its high dimension and it is difficult to get printer's spectral color gamut, a novel algorithm is proposed. Firstly, the characteristic and transform with SPCS of LabPQR Interim Connection Space (ICS) are researched. It is proved by experiments that the spectra difference and color difference between SPCS's description and LabPQR ICS's description are very small. Then, a forward printer model based on Neugebauer and an inverse printer model based on color difference nonlinear optimization objective function are established. After that, a novel printer metameric spectral reflectance algorithm is proposed, and the result of experiment shows that the algorithm is effective in getting printer's metameric spectral reflectance. Finally, a new algorithm to get printer's spectral color gamut is presented. The algorithm is used to get a four color printer's spectral color gamut and realize its visualization by LabPQR ICS.
