The Study Of Library's Role

The connection of library and community is becoming increasingly close, and to understand the position and role of the library is very important in society. From the sociological role of the basic theory, combined with the library's history and current situation, to study the role of the library can not only enrich and substantiate the content of library sociological theory, but also have positive significance for studying dynamically the library's nature, status, function, value in a wide range of social. As an integral part of social structure, library's role possess organic holistic, comprehensive, initiative and other features; Library role-playing process involves three basic components: expectations, insight and Library Role Practice. Due to lack of resources, poor quality of librarians, inaccurate to comprehend its own role, and hole the role which multiple uncoordinated in the same time, the role of library will result to conflict and failure. In order to solve the problem of Library Role-playing, we should give full play initiative, strengthen its role in training and integration, in particular to strengthen cooperation with readers, government, business and other interactive cooperation. Trough the dynamic partnership with the community, the library will bring more support and help, expand their scope of development and play a more important role in the community; in turn, the library could better serve the community to change the discord situation of the library and social development, and finally the library and community access to development and improvement together.
