WEB-based Teaching Quality Assessment System Design And Implementation

With the Reform of teaching and educating system in Higher Vocational Colleges of China, especially with the development of the Credit System and course selection system and the complexity of the daily Academic Affairs, it is the key to obtain the effective evaluation tools of teaching in order to guarantee and supervise it. It is quite necessary to build effective Online Teaching Evaluation System, make a record of evaluation and make a statistic on the evaluation result by computer instead of human being work in the times of highly development of information technology and structuring of the Digital campus. These methods, on one hand, can lessen the very complicate statistical work of staff in office of academic affairs; on the other hand, they can realize flexible and objective evaluation without time and place restrictions.This paper attempts to discuss the development of Online Teaching Evaluation System, enrich the resources of online teaching evaluation and reflection with an aim to form a new Online Teaching Evaluation System and build a dynamic teaching supervision system of "evaluation-reflection-improvement" on the basis of the original Education Management Information System. With the establishment of this system, we hope it can promote the specification of teaching evaluation and improve the efficiency and quality of the teaching management.The system can be divided into two parts:administer system and WEB terminal. It employs the mode of combination of C/S and B/S. Administer system resorts to C/S mode while WEB terminal adopts B/S mode. Its functions include:1) To fix the evaluation variables on the Administer system, include fixing the term which is evaluated, evaluating time, indicators, objects and tasks.2) To supervise the evaluation of the administer system, analyze the results and consequently make charts and forms.3) WEB terminal is the stage for students and teacher usage. By internet browser, they can visit the system, select the course and make an evaluation which contains evaluation of students to teachers, evaluation of teachers to counterparts, evaluation of dean of department to teachers as well as evaluation of teaching supervisors to teachers.This paper realizes parts of the above-mentioned functions and makes a test. After the employment of the system, anticipatory effect is achieved.
