Modern AC speed regulation is one of the major technical progress of human society in the late 20th century. In the 21st century, AC speed regulation technology continues to further develop, which is still hot topic of science and technology development. Europe and Japan have launched a series of commercial high-performance digital AC motor control system and products in the early 1980s. China has also lots of units in research, development and introducing the AC motor control system technology and related equipment, made some valuable achievements. Although AC motor control technology has rapid development for years, it is still the important issue of domestic and oversea scholars and industry study. Especially, with the continuous development of power electronic technology, power electronic chip, such as microprocessors, MCU and DSP etc, has been widely applied to engineering application.However, in the AC speed regulation system, AC motor has its inherent defects during operation; the traditional PID controllers can't meet the control requirements and performance indicators of the modern AC motor. Since the computers are applied to motion control field, digital PID controllers not only can be used software to tune its control algorithm, also can achieve more flexible control. Digital PID control is one of the most widely used control method in production process, such as mechanical and electrical, metallurgy, machinery, chemical and so on.This paper mainly focuses on the design of discrete-time complex vector PID controller of the AC speed regulation system. Firstly, design complex vector AC motor model according to the transfer function of AC motor. Secondly, theoretical derivation of the PID controller related parameters based on the Simulink of the MATLAB software. Finally, design the experimental platform of system based on the latest floating-point microprocessor of the TI Company in the United States. Through the actual experiment, the designed PID controller can meet the related control requirements and performance indicators of the AC speed regulation system.
