OFDM and MIMO technologies were introduced for solving the influence of multipath fading channel and bandwidth efficiency on wireless telecommunication. With multi-carrier modulation, OFDM technologies can overcome frequency selective fading which multipath fading channels caused. MIMO technologies, having multiple antenna at transmit and/or receive ends, can improve channel capacity and provide very high spectral efficiency while using the same total power and bandwidth. MIMO-OFDM system can realize these two technologies'advantages which can overcome multipath fading and improving spectral efficiency, so it will be applicated to be a key technology in next generation wireless telecommunication.Soft radio condition of GNU Radio combine with cheap Universal Software Radio Peripheral (USRP) which enable engineers to rapidly design and implement a powerful, flexible software radio platform. Meanwhile it can support multiple input and multiple output system perfectly.Firstly, fundamental of MIMO and OFDM technologies was introduced, and present knowledge of USRP and soft radio condition of GNU Radio respectively. Then there are several kinds of algorithms of channel estimate and data detection respectively in MIMO-OFDM system. On this basis, the structure of frame and transceiver were designed in MIMO-OFDM system with two input and two output. Meanwhile these blocks were connected with Python languge which also invoking other file writing by Python language, and set relevant parameters. And then, the modules of channel estimate and data detection were designed with the soft language of C++. Finally the testing environment and results of systems will be given.
