It is a great significance for ionosphere exploring on studying radio communication, satellite navigation and some other activities. The development of new detection technology, especially in radar technology which improves transmitted power, receiving sensitivity and antenna gain a lot, continuously boosts the study on ionosphere to higher levels since 1950s. It is suggested that feeble signals scattered by electrons in ionosphere can be detected. Hence a new detection method called Incoherent Scatter Radar appears, which can measure various ionosphere parameters and covers the altitude scope from 60km to 2000km, and it has become the most effective ground tool for studying the structure and dynamics processing of ionosphere. Based on the horizontal subject"Incoherent Scatter Radar Signal Processing Subsystem", the main contents and results in the dissertation are as follows:First, basic incoherent scatter principle is studied and the relationship between the statistical characteristics of scatter signals and ionosphere media is derived.Second, the basic theory of incoherent scatter signal processing referred to ambiguity function is studied. According to the demands of the project, the specific processing algorithms of Baker Codes, Long Pulse Codes and Alternating Codes are presented. The advantages and disadvantages of the three coding patterns are comparatively analyzed.Third, the design and implementation plan of the signal processing algorithm is proposed. The functional programs of Baker Codes, Long Pulse Codes and Alternating Codes are respectively realized based on ADSP TS201. The design of multiprocessor booting and Gigabit Ethernet communication is proposed. Compared to the simulations with Matlab, the results prove the program design valid and reliable. The program design performs well in real-time characteristic with the test of actual detecting mode. Finally, the basic theory of plasma spectrum modeling is discussed. The incoherent scatter spectra of collision plasma are respectively simulated with 13-moment approximation and 16-moment approximation for ion velocity distribution with the consideration of high latitude auroral ionosphere. It turns out that the direct effect of collision makes the spectra become sharper and gather to the center, and the characteristic of anisotropic temperature becomes more apparent with the increase of electric field intensity.
