WSNS (wireless sensor networks) is a sort of new network which consists of large number of sensors, it is another hotspot since the Internet technology and is used to collect information from where the WSNs covers. With the development of sensor, computer, micro-mechanical electronic and wireless communication techniques, the WSNs is more and more popular in daily life. Generally, the WSNs can be randomly deployed to form a large scale of coverage, and the network is self-organized in which the sensors can adaptively schedule their activation according to the environment-inspection, military-use and business purpose, etc.The paper mainly focuses on the target localization algorithm in wireless sensor network. First of all, the research significance and research status of target localization are presented; then, the typical target localization algorithms in WSNs are introduced including their advantages and unsettled issuse. Finally, a weight centroid-forecast localization algorithm was proposed via the previous study. This algorithm takes the research for collaboration technology based on wireless sensor network, work on the target localization of the network, when the number of the nodes which detect the target is more than and equal to 3, use the weight centroid algorithm, and when the number of the nodes which detect the target is less than 3, use the forecast algorithm. This algorithm not only make more intensive when the position is accuracy, but also solved the case of spares node positioning problem.Second, using the virtues of mobile agent in the target localization algorithm, all the sensor nodes that knowing target competed to get the mobile agent in order to track the location of targets. Competition rules are defined by the remaining value of the energy, the signal of the nodes which receive form the target, the detected range of the nodes. The nodes which have a large value remaining energy and have a large value of receive signal node first get the mobile agent. To do so, the mobile agent avoid to the nodes which have a smaller value of remaining energy so that the energy of the network used balance. The agent may invite some nearly salve sensors to cooperatively position the object. This will not only extend the life span of the network, but also take into account the accuracy of targeting. From the simulation results, we can see the preponderance.
