With a good performance of Coal Mine Gas Monitoring System has very important significance for the safety of mine production, improving the efficiencies of mine production, reducing the losses of life and property of people, etc. As a important port of Coal Mine Gas Monitoring System, voice alarm system alarm the alarm information with voice, which play a import role for the reducing the accidents of coal mine production, strengthen safety management of coal mine. In this paper, a voice alarm system based on streaming transmission technology for coal mine had been proposed, and it had been designed and achieved based on the home-made embedded system. In this paper, embedded system and streaming media technology were researched. Embedded system connecting to the internet is an important future development direction of embedded system. Streaming media is a new technology based on network, which can achieve playing while loading with a suitable buffer and is attractive to the embedded system with limited resource.The voice alarm system of this paper had two parts:server and client. The server in the PC with Win 32 operating system had achieved the function of voice synthesis, setting the buffer, establishing the session of server and client, encapsulating streaming data, receiving information packets, etc. Taking into account the home-made embedded system has a wealthy of hardware, such as memory, network, audio, the transplantation of embedded system and network protocol is feasible and could develop powerful process with the home-made embedded platform, the client had established multi-tasking-based voice alarm system with the embedded system platform, and designed and implemented the functions of media data receiving and WAV audio file playback. As the connection link of server and client, the network transmission protocol mainly using UDP and streaming real transport protocol and real transport control protocol.Every design part in this paper has been tested, and the result is right and shows that the design of this alarm system is reasonable and effective, which can provide a platform of hardware and software for practical applications. The work of this paper is worthy of reference for other application and research based on embedded system and streaming media technology.
