LCD image quality is good presentation of animation, images, text, full color, clear picture quality. LCD image quality also very high importance, because it is directly facing the consumer. Good quality display offer users a very pleasant feeling, can give them convenient, comfortable feeling at work or leisure time. This is a very important panel manufacturer's technical target, to produce the best image quality products.In this paper, a professional panel manufacturer encountered image quality problems in the production: horizontal stripes mura (H strip mura). According to the light refraction, reflection and diffraction theory, using a computer software simulation and a small amount of experimental verification, to find out the reasons for horizontal stripes mura. Meanwhile a lot of experimental verification was used in production line, finally find a solution to this issue. In actual production use of the solution later, the image quality problem is fully resolved, the product reached the company's normal production plans, creating a considerable economic benefits.In this paper, include the following aspects:1. Explanation of LCD display light-emitting principle, from linear light produced in the backlight lamp, then transformed into a whole face light. Combined with liquid crystal which driven by signal and transduction, ultimately make consumer to see colorful pictures.2. Analysis for the root causes of horizontal stripes mura involved in paper, based on optical refraction, reflection and diffraction theory, to research the root cause from a theoretical aspect. Then find the improvement direction.3. Designed a computer simulation experiment. According to the theoretical analysis, to find out the adverse factor for horizontal stripes mura, to make adjustments for improvement, make optics simulation in the computer, to find the direction for improvement and so on.4. Designed the actual experimental verification. According to the theoretical analysis, the experimental results of computer simulation, as well as actual production experience, designed a series of related experiments to verify, finally find out the best improvement methods which suit to large scale production.When the results of research and analysis mentioned above was used in the practical production, improve the good production yield and obtain good economic benefits. Also did a very good reference and prevention for similar problems in the follow-up production, it has a good practical benefit.
