Heterogeneous Data Normalization And Integration Of Network Security Situational Awareness

The concept of situational awareness originates from military, which has expensive application in the area of space travel, situational evaluation in battlefield, control of nuclear reactor and medical treatment. Network security situational awareness is a kind of application in situational awareness. Network security situation awareness scans the whole state of network and security with macroscopical aspect, analyzes the state of network system with the real time flow data, oscillograph trace, crucial quantitative index, log data of terminal node and the data of sensor service and evaluates the existing and underlying threat and abnormality. The method of taking relational data model as a global data model is lack of scalability and not perfect in integration efficiency. XML unitedly provides a simple and effective method to integrate heterogeneous data source. XML could process different data type almost perfectly because XML has the advances of platform independence, flexibility, self-describing, data transformation and expandability.In the process of data normalization in this article, each awareness module transfers different data type to uniform xml document format to achieve heterogeneous data normalization through the form of xml. In the process of data integration, the method of weight based na?ve Bayes classifier integrates the XMLs contains heterogeneous data, the target of which is to provide uniform format data to higher class user which is higher class of situational awareness sensor. The problem which needs to resolve in the process of data normalization and integration is heterogeneity among data source, semantic conflicts and to find more efficient integration method. This article put emphasis on establishment of standard mode of situation information, establishement of the matching relation between data source and standard mode, XML file dynamic generation and integration combined with actual project.Experiments in actual project indicate that the normalization of different sensor data and the integration work of heterogeneous data source among different sensors could be finished perfectly. In the integration data which is submitted to higher class user, what makes high class user fully understand the meaning of the data submitted, meets the requirement of project, has some guidance effect to heterogeneous data normalization and integration.
