Workflow management system is an important technology in the realization of business processes automation in computer application environments. However, the new technology, new regulations and new market demand could lead to structured changes of the workflow process. In order to deal with the problem, a formal method for describing domain knowledge was provided in this paper, which provides the workflow rich semantic information.The existing approaches in dynamic construction of workflow models may be divided into three categories:bulding workflow metal models, transporting processes and the knowledge-driven based approach. We proposed a new ontology description language DTLALC, a knowledge representation language with more expressive capabilities under the enlightenment of some existing methods, after analyzing their advantages and defects. We used DTLALC to describe the workflow and construct the domain process momel. Compared with the existing methods, the method proposed in this paper are of the following contributions:(1) Aiming at the lack of the ability to describle the temporal property and dynamic behaviors in current ontology languages, DTLALC, a new ontology language, was proposed in this paper. Meanwhile, the basic reasoning problem in DTLALC was discussed. Besides, the problem of reasoning about actions in DTLALC was also determined in the paper.(2) To construct the workflow processes dynamicly, the domain knowledge was descriped based on DTLALC-The activity matching problem in business processes was translated into the problem of checking the satisfiability of formulas in DTLALC.Meanwhile,the method for constructing a workflow ontology model was gived. In addition, the architecture of dynamic workflow management system was designed and the workflow engine, the core components in workflow management system, was also provided.(3) A prototype system was developed for the verification of the method provided in this paper, which shows the effectiveness of the technology.
