Women’s education is an important part of national education. Women’s cultural andeducational level reflects the level of social development. To some extent, this is especially truein the era of revolution. With ambient occlusion and backward economy, Yimeng revolutionarybase is one of China’s four major revolutionary bases. But even under poor circumstances,women’s education was not interrupted. Many excellent women were cultivated in those days,which formed the well-known “literacy class”. Yimeng revolutionary base was formallycompleted in1938. Women’s education was conducted subsequently. The establishment of newChina in1945opened a new chapter of women’s education in Yimeng revolutionary base. Thisthesis makes a full review and discussion on the form, content, value, and inspiration of women’seducation in Yimeng revolutionary base between1938and1949.Women’s education in the base area is elaborated from three parts by referring to theexisting literature, reading historical materials and integrating the historical background andrevolutionary stories.The first part tries to analyze the background of conducting women’s education in Yimengrevolutionary base. Yimeng women consciously inherited culture and the revolution calls forcultural production and illiteracy cleaning, which is the indispensible times condition. Thegovernment support and the mobilization of the base provide the political and practicalconditions. The second part focuses on the specific implementation of women’s education in thebase area. It gives an overall and systematic introduction of the educational contents, approachesand methods based on three different points of penetration. In revolutionary times, the contentsof education mainly focus on political and ideological aspects, while women’s education inYimeng revolutionary base covers politics, cultures, and production techniques, which is, then ornow, very comprehensive. The implementation of various educational approaches and methodscontributes to the vigorousness of women’s education. Educational approaches include politicalmobilization, varied art projects and production practice, and methods include winter study,literacy class and night school. The third part aims to summarize and refine the evaluation andinspiration of women’s education in Yimeng revolutionary base. Women’s education in Yimengrevolutionary base has a positive effect on enhancing women’s political consciousness, providingtraining in life skills, improving mental outlook and promoting construction work. Its historicalvalue and contemporary significance are still worthy of recognition despite the imperfect system,short process and narrow range of educate. This paper makes further analysis on the realistic inspirations of women’s education in Yimeng revolutionary base. Learning from the past canhelp intensify rural and women’s education.
