This thesis researches on four different versions of Model Drama,“Shajiabang”, by analyzing and comparing these versions using the methodology of comparative analysis, and reaches the conclusion of reason for variation. The thesis consists of four sections. The First section is Introduction, regarding how “Shajiabang”is composed, and brief description to these four versions. In Section Two to Four, detailed analysis and comparison are performed on the four versions. Eventually the discrepancy between every two versions, and the reasons are analyzed.“Shajiabang”, Model drama of Beijing Opera, was composed in a special era in Chinese history, and limited by composition rule of“Three Keys”for that era. Therefore, the “Shajiabang”is not only limited by rules of traditional Chinese drama, but also influenced by “Three Keys”. The “Three Keys”theory is the outcome of practice on “Model Drama” in its early stage. Once the concept is formed, on one hand it gives direction to production of later Model Dramas, on the other hand, it exercises influence to re-production(improvement) of existing Model Dramas having been created in early stages.“Shajiabang”was composed before the “Three Keys”theory, and then revised and improved according to the theory.
