An Analysis Of The Narrative Methods Of The Art Of Outsiders

Discussion on the value of outsider art has been an important part of outsider art research. Based on the previous research findings, I am tying to establish a new way of research method in this essay, called narrative model. I am tying to discuss the narrative method of outsider art through the establishment of the narrative model, which allows researchers to survey outsider art with multidimensional perspective. On the other hand, researchers can replace different works through the narrative model in order to do comparison and further study.The paper quoted Adolf Wolfli as the main analysis artist, represent the progress of establishing and using the narrative model in Adolf’s creating activity, through the symbols and its function, schema and filling sections. In the last chapter, according to the relationship between the model and the narrative space of three degrees of previous discussion, I lead out the concept of space-time crossing observation and flowing narrative model. Thus, the concept make a much more multidimensional reference for better presentation of Adolf Wolfli and other outsider artists.
