Image Construction Reality

In a video and technical controlled era, an electronic reproduction era, it develops a new form of similar visual images and unreal images with a unprecedented power. This paper sets forth the current situation of image era from iconology and sociology as an entry point based on a broad environment of contemporary society of the spectacle, analyzes the theoretical basis of images in construction of reality, and then discusses how images have completed the construction of reality from the angle of semeiology. By taking idols produced by an era as an example, we have investigated and analyzed the mode of images in construction of reality. Images are produced based on the reality whereas the reality is completed through images. We are in an era surrounded by images and we will capture and understand the reality relying on images that have been made up in our daily life and continuously produced moment by moment as if viruses multiply. In the reality constructed by images, we have no way of judging truth and unreality. All is existed in a visual form both in-between reality and illusion.
