| The gentiopicroside, a secoiridoid glycoside isolated from the gentiana rigescens Franch, has favorable activities of antioxidant, Protect liver, gallbladder, anti-inflammatory and analgesic. Moreover, there are studies show that it also can treat depression, convulsions and rheumatoid arthritis, inhibit CVB3 as well. Due to its instability under acidic, alkaline and oxidizing conditions, the reports on the gentiopicroside are only about pharmacological activity, distribution, extraction and content determination, but the studies on its structural modifications and derivatives synthesis are infrequent.Therefore, it is meaningful to do the research on its structural modifications and derivatives synthesis.In this paper, the synthetic of derivatives was completed by olefin metathesis reactions and Wacker reaction, explored the synthetic route of derivatives and finished the research on its biological activities. The results indicated that some gentiopicroside derivatives have better antioxidant and antimicrobial activities compare to gentiopicroside itself.
