Purpose:Investigating TCM constitution of patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver and determining TCM syndrome, and know TCM constitution, distribution of TCM syndrome of patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver, additionally analyzing risk factors and discussing the relationship between TCM constitution and TCM syndrome and risk factors, in order to provide the guidance for prevention and treatment by integrating Chinese medicine and western medicine for non-alcoholic fatty liver.Method:Selecting 146 in-patients who met diagnostic criteria for non-alcoholic fatty liver and inclusive criteria from Second Affiliated Hospital of Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine for the period from November 2014 to November 2015.Questionnaires of 146 patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver were performed according to TCM “preventive and treatment of diseases” constitution assessment form, and the findings were entries into constitution test software, and the system automatically analyzed the constitution types according to the questionnaires’ results. Meanwhile, height, weight, fasting blood glucose, blood pressure and triglycerides for patients in t he investigation were recorded. According to syndrome judgment criteria for non-alcoholic fatty liver, syndrome differentiation were performed for 146 patients with the guidance of supervisors.Results:1.The distribution of traditional medicine constitution for 146 patients with non-alcohol ic fatty liver:48 cases of qi-deficiency(32.9%), 39 cases of phlegm-dampness(26.7%), 26 cases of dampness-heat(17.8%) and 17 cases of Yin-deficiency constitution(11.6%).2.Syndrome distribution: 56 cases of syndrome of hepatic depression and spleen deficiency(38.36%), 37 cases of syndrome of phlegm-dampness obstructing internally(25.34%), 23 cases of accumulation of damp-heat syndrome(15.75%), 19 cases of qi stagnation and syndrome of liver depression(13.01%), 11 cases of syndrome of Turbid Phlegm and Blood Stasis(7.54%).3.The relationship between constitution and syndrome: syndrome of hepatic depression and spleen deficiency is the most in patients with qi-deficiency constitution, 39 cases(81.3%); syndrome of phlegm-dampness obstructing internally is the most in patients with phlegm-dampness constitution, 25 cases(64.1%); accumulation of damp-heat syndrome is the most in patients with dampness-heat constitution, 15 cases(57.7%).4. There is significant association between body weight indexes, blood glucose, blood pressure, triglyceride and TCM constitution. BMI in patients with phlegm-dampness constitution is generally more than 25(87.2%); the blood glucose in patients with dampness-heat constitution is higher(80.8%); blood pressure in patients with Yin-deficiency constitution is higher(72.9%); triglyceride in patients with phlegm-dampness constitution is much higher(79.5%).Conclusion:There is the internal relationship between TCM constitution and TCM syndrome, which syndrome of liver depression and spleen deficiency is the most in patients with Qi-deficiency constitution; syndrome of phlegm-dampness obstructing internally is the most in patients with phlegm-dampness constitution; accumulation of damp-heat syndrome is the most in patients with dampness-heat constitution. Qi-deficiency, phlegm-dampness and dampness-heat constitution are prone to suffer from non-alcoholic fatty liver. The risk factor for Qi-deficiency constitution is high blood pressure; The risk factors for phlegm-dampness constitution are body weight index, hyper triglyceride; The risk factor for dampness-heat constitution is diabetes.
