Clinical Observation On The Treatment Of Seborrheic Dermatitis (Damp - Heat Syndrome) With

Objective:Patients with seborrheic dermatitis was observed in erythema,dandruff, seborrhea,itch and changes in the lesion area before and after treatment with Xiangbai Shampoo.The study is to evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of the treatment of seborrheic dermatitis with Xiangbai Shampoo, and to provide scientific basis for further clinical development of new drugs of traditional Chinese medicine.Methods:72 head seborrheic dermatitis patients who met the diagnostic criteria,were randomly divided into treatment group and control group，in which had 36 cases.The treatment group was treated with Xiangbai Shampoo, control group with 2% of ketoconazolelotion (Triatop Lotion produced by Xi’an Janssen Pharmaceutica Ltd.),5ml each time,3 times a week for 4 weeks.Patients were visits, taken pictures of the target lesions, recorded the symptoms of erythema, dandruff, seborrhea,itch and lesion area before treatment,14 days after treatment and 28 days after treatment.At the same time,the patient’s blood, urine, liver and kidney functions were tested to monitor the drug safety.Results:The patients meet the program sets a total of 71 cases,36 in treatment group,35 in control group.In treatment group,5 cases were cured,10 cases were markedly effective,13 cases were effective,8 cases were ineffective.The total effective rate was 77.8% and markedly effective and cure rate was 41.7%. In control group,2 cases were cured,4 cases were markedly effective,16 cases were effective,13 cases were ineffective.The total effective rate was 62.9% and markedly effective and cure rate was 17.1%.The treatment group and control group had no significant difference in total effective rate(P> 0.05),but the treatment group had much better markedly effective and cure rate than the control group(P<0.05).Two Groups’s symptom score in erythema, dandruff, seborrhea,itch and lesion area after treatment, were statistically significant compared with symptom score before treatment (P<0.05). In the treatment group the curative effects on erythema, dandruff, seborrhea,itch and lesion area were almost similar to those in the control group (P> 0.05).Two groups of patients’various items of physical and chemical indicators are no obvious abnormalities before and after treatment.Throughout the trial, the treatment group did not appear adverse reactions.One cases of the control group appear adverse reactions which disappeared after drug withdrawal. Conclusion:Xiangbai Shampoo has an significant on curing head seborrheic dermatitis.It’s the overall effect is slightly better than 0.2% ketoconazole lotion with no significant adverse reactions.Xiangbai Shampoo deserves to be applied in clinical practice.
