The vulgarization of TV is a kind of mutant phenomenon in the flourishing evolution of marketization and amusementization of the TV undertaking of our country since the 1990s. Under market economy terms, the vulgarization of Chinese TV has been developing constantly following its commercialization during recent years.Some TV medias give up their own social responsibilities in the communicating activity, turning the orientation of value to pursuing audience rating and economic benefits. In order to cater to the needs of audience's less educated cultural interests, they make use of the name that satisfied vastest readers' cultural interests and produce large quantities of low class TV programs, such as, propagandizing star' s scandals, catering to the psychology for hunting for novelty, pursuing the stimuluses to the sense organs especially, play up the pornographic and violence.The author thinks that TV itself, as a kind of modern mass media, is neutral. We neither think one-sidedly that TV will inevitablely bring the science and progress to mankind, nor affirm that it can only cause the degradation or degeneratingof human nature, or definitely cause a certain vulgarization. Whether the cultural function of TV could be totally realized depends on two factors:First, according to the visual angle of audience' s aspect, that depends on people' s active response to the communicating activity of TV culture;Second, according to the visual angle of subject of communicating aspect, that depends on the social institutions that medias live in and its mission that those institutions give.This dissertation bases on Marxist position and view, aims at cultural attribute of TV and puts the research object in macroscopical culture background that the contemporary Chinese TV exists in. First, to understand and judge vulgarization of TV through summing up its essential characteristics and analyzing its negative influences; second, to study inevitable connection between audience' s cultural interests and vulgarization of TV by means of investigating ways and courses that communities of audience act on TV culture, then to reveal deep internal causes of TV vulgarization, at last, to seek countermeasures to alleviate this question, I have studied vulgarization of TV from the aspect of systems...
