We analyze the structures and main functions of the medium and small scale DCS, introduce the research and application trend of the DCS at home and abroad briefly, present mainly the monitor and control software for field control stations in the DCS that we designed and developed. In the system , the MIC2000 series products of Advantech Corporation are used as host computer,I/O boards and machine cage; Windows CE.NET, which is the newest products of Microsoft Corporation, is regarded as the real time operating system for field control stations. The customization method for CE.NET platform and key character of Windows CE.NET is introduced in this paper. The software is developed with the tools of Embedded Visual C++ 4.0 and Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0. The software includes two parts: the module for sampling and outputting and the module for communicating among the engineering station and the field control stations. The data structure and pretreatment and the key course are provided in the first module. The communicating module is realized based on TCP/IP protocol through windows socket functions provided by the programming tools. The performance testing of the software indicates that it is reliable and easy to use, and there is certain practical value. In addition, the realization of whole frame, has laid a solid foundation for the research that the following graduate students continue the subject.
