The dissertation researches theory model and some basic algorithms of visualization of 3D data field and put it into practice to visualize stratum. First, it discusses the basic model, visualization methods and algorithms. Then improve some algorithms based on characteristics of geological field and utilize some geostatistical methods to get better evaluate data. To meet the high interaction demand, it gives some theory and methods correlated. At last, a satisfactory geological field visualization system is developed using the model, methods and algorithms mentioned. The dissertation mainly discusses facies-modeling method and also discusses some knowledge about volume rendering simply. The visualization procedure includes pre-data-process, mapping, rendering and display. Pre-data-process formats the source data to meet the system data format. Mapping maps the processed data to geometric data and creates the geometric model. Rendering changes the geometric data into image data. Display shows what we get. At case of visualization of geological data field, all the source space data and attribute data are scattered and because of sedimentary process and diastrophism, data continuity gets some destroyed. And it must be considered when processing data or modeling. To meet the constraints and to get higher process speed, a new interpolating model named Radiating-Assimilating-Model is developed and applied into space data evaluation. It use Kriging with constrains to evaluate attribute distribution. And the system aims at helping experts to analyze mass geological data directly and vividly but not directly face mass data or tables. So to realize multi-angle observation, to better understand and analyze mass geological data, interaction gets important. It discusses space movement, 3D track ball simulation, picking method and put them into practice in the system. At case of design, it separates 'common part' and 'special part' and forms the core library and application system framework. It is very useful for reuse and extension.
