Navigation is one of the key technology on realizing the realistic actions of agents in computer games.To some extent,it indicate the level of intelligentized agents in games.Navigation is the skill that produces the goal directed movement.Agents can recept the surroundings all around and navigate itself. Integating the typic AIs,and going deep into the research of navigation in virtual environment of games,this paper includes the following several parts:First,the paper provides an overview of A* used in computer games,and then,it discusses the strategy optimizing the A* in order to improve its efficiency.Second,the paper discusses the excellence solution to open terrain navigation preprocessing when the state of terrain unchanges in games.What's more,all sorts of agents can also share the same solution table.Optimising the searching skill in preprocessing is also in this part.The third,navigation mesh is provided in the paper.It's one of the path searching technologies in game AIs. It is the set of convex polygons which memorize the conver traversed.Agents can navigate efficiently in games by using meshes.So the important of a good navigational mesh is to construct the simple and rapid path searching system.Last part the paper discusses that how to realize the realistic-looking turning between waypoints in order that the game run efficiently.
